NEWCASTLE KZN: Municipality warns of planned power disruptions from this month

Scheduled power disruptions will commence on November 9 from 8.00 am.

The Newcastle Municipality has issued a statement informing residents of planned power outages beginning next week.

“This serves to inform residents of planned power supply disruptions due to maintenance work at our substations,” said Mlungisi Khumalo, Head of Communications.

Khumalo confirmed that scheduled disruptions would begin on November 9 and last until 16:00 p.m.

The scheduled disruptions will work as follows:

November 9 – Earl Sub Station 7:
Affected Areas:
– Central
– Newcastle mall
– Equa rand
– Arborpark,
– Vlam
– Newcastle Mediclinic

January 5, 2022 – Voortrekker Sub Station 65:
Affected Areas:
– Central
– Upper CBD
– Vlam
– Provincial Hospital

January 6, 2022- Albert Wessels Sub Station 14:
Affected Areas:
– Industrial Area by Gutenberg
– KwamaÅ¥hukuza
– Caltex Garage.

“The Newcastle Municipality deeply regrets any inconvenience this may cause,” Khumalo concluded.
