‘Mini Cooper’ represents Ladysmith in Cape Town Marathon

She placed 10th in the 42km race

On Sunday, October 17, local runner Zinhle Shabalala represented Ladysmith with pride when she participated in the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon.

Going by the nickname ‘Mini Cooper’, Zinhle is part of the Xcel Running Club.

In the Cape Town Marathon, she ran the 42km race and placed 10th in under three hours.

She also took part in the SA Championships, where all nine provinces were represented. Zinhle took second position in a time of 2:41.

She recently won the Durban International Marathon as well, which was held on September 5.

According to her coach, Vumo Ngubane, the Durban Marathon serves as preparation for the Cape Town Marathon.
