Two suspects have appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.
The suspects, both 53 years of age, were remanded into police custody pending a formal bail application.
Officers from the Public Order Policing (POP) Unit arrested the men in the Weenen area after they were found with an AK-47 assault rifle and two 9mm pistols, as well as 32 rounds of ammunition.

The recovered firearms will be sent for ballistic testing.
