NEWCASTLE KZN: Death of dog in snare horrifies Newcastle SPCA

One of the dogs died after being caught in the wire snare.

The Newcastle SPCA’s Heather Gero has described August 19 as ‘a day she will never forget’, after being contacted about two dogs caught in wire snares.

Upon arriving at the scene, SPCA officials determined that one of the pups had died from its injuries. Fortunately, the second of the dogs was still alive.

“The surviving dog was taken to the vet to be treated for his injuries before being handed over to the Newcastle SPCA, where he is now in need of a new and loving home,” she added.
