Ladysmith KZN: Wheelchairs for disabled needy people in Ward 20

The recipients were identified by the Matthew Goniwe ANC Branch and the religious forum

Molly Govender, a disabled woman who lives in Poppy Crescent, was the happy recipient of a wheelchair on Monday (October 4). The wheelchair was given to her by Ward 20 ANC candidate Soojat Khan, together with an organisation called I 24 Outreach NPO.

Mr Khan described this initiative as an ‘effective action plan’ in which they intend to donate five wheelchairs to needy quadriplegic persons.

“All recipients are from Ward 20. They were identified by the Matthew Goniwe ANC Branch and the religious forum of Ward 20,” said Mr Khan.

Happy father Mr Manny Govender accepted the donation on behalf of his daughter, Molly. “I am very happy for my daughter, as now she will be able to move around. We are very thankful to Mr Khan and the I 24 Outreach NPO organisation,” said Mr Govender.

Ms Ammarah Hoosen from I 24 Outreach NPO was also present on the day.
