One suspect has been arrested in connection with a murder investigation, thanks to the efforts of local crime-fighters.
A murder case was opened at the Newcastle Police Station on September 12, according to Imran Ghafoor from the Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team. Since that date, police officials were on the trail of a key suspect.
On October 1, explained Ghafoor, word was received about the suspect drinking at a tavern. An operational team was formed, comprised of Amajuba Crime Intelligence, Newcastle Public Order Policing, and the Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team.
The suspect was subsequently apprehended and is currently in custody, after being positively linked to the ongoing murder investigation.
