Ladysmith KZN: Egerton hands over envelope buried for 25 years

The envelope has been buried in a 'time capsule' since 1996...

Mr and Mrs Rickets paid a visit to Egerton Primary School this month to fetch a very interesting item that was buried in a ‘time capsule’ back in 1996 when the school was celebrating its Jubilee.

Egerton celebrated its 100th birthday on August 1 this year and the Grade 7 pupils opened the ‘time capsule’ to mark the occasion.

An envelope addressed to the Young family of Young’s Engineering was among the items discovered in the silver capsule. The Rickets are family of the Youngs and came to pick it up on their behalf.
