DUNDEE KZN: Financial assistance urgently needed for family

Family in desperate need of funds before they find themselves on the streets

Neels and Nellie Vermaak are well known and much loved figures in the Endumeni area.

For the past 26 years, the couple has run the local dry cleaner/ laundry down Willson Street.
Serving the community has always been close to their hearts, but now, they need the help of the community to stay afloat.

The couple have hit a rough patch of late, which has seen them drowning in debt. The problems arose after Neels had to be hospitalized after he was assaulted by a man over a five day period.

Covid-19 then reared its ugly head and the dry cleaner lost their biggest client. Nellie was then the victim of an assault after she was attacked by armed robbers in the Glencoe Spar.

With bad luck befalling them constantly, the couple fell behind on their payments. Despite trying their best and paying what they could, they were unable to pay full amount and the debt kept piling up.

Currently they are R250 000 in debt and if not raised within ten days, the couple will lose their house and find themselves on the streets.

Thus far, only R64 950 has been raised. A further R185 050 is needed by tomorrow. Their daughter, Cornelie, is not pleading with people to help pull off a miracle.

“If 1851 people donate R100, the target will be made. It is a reachable target if every one who receives this message, forwards it on. By tomorrow, 1000’s of people will know and amongst the 1000’s, there will be people who will donate as well.”

Anyone who can assist with donations is urged to do so.

Donations can be made into Cornelie’s account.
