Ladymith KZN: Local teen model to represent SA internationally

18-year-old Namuhla Chonco will represent SA in the Miss Teen Tourism International pageant in the Philippines next year

Namuhla Chonco (18), who hails from Ezakheni, has been crowned Miss Teen Tourism World SA.

The event was held on Saturday (September 18) at Coastlands Hotel in Durban. Namuhla competed against participants from all over the world.

She will now represent South Africa at Miss Teen Tourism International, to be held in the Philippines next year.

Her journey in modelling began in 2018 when she entered Miss Kasi and placed as second runner-up. Then, in 2019, she was crowned Miss uThukela. Later that year, she won another title, being named Miss Spring.

As part of her community work, she has started an initiative to distribute sanitary pads to teenage girls.
