Ladysmith KZN: Dam levels already good, with the rainy season upon us

Spioenkop Dam is currently on 95.2%

Plenty of rain fell in the summer of 2020, and now it’s already spring of 2021! So what does that mean for the water levels in dams surrounding Ladysmith?

Rain has already fallen over the past few weeks, adding to the dam levels that have remained good throughout the dry, cold months.

Let’s take a look at the latest levels in nearby dams…

Spioenkop is on 95.2%, with Wagendrift Dam just below the 90-mark on 88.01%.

Driel Barrage is a fraction of a percentage below full on 99.7%, while Woodstock Dam stands at 76.21%.

The lowest dam in the KZN region is Hazelmere on 35.88%.

The rainy season is upon us, so this bodes well to push these dams back up to being full and overflowing!
