NEWCASTLE KZN: Computer accessories and socks among suspected stolen items

The approximate value of all suspected stolen goods is R12 000.

One suspect was arrested on September 14, for the possession of multiple items which are believed to have been stolen.

During an intelligence driven operation on the day, members of Osizweni Crime Prevention mobilised for patrol in the greater Osizweni area, focusing on drugs and other criminal activities.

This included following a lead about suspected stolen items being stashed at a house, according to Lizzy Arumugam from Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications.

“The members then headed to Msomi Stand in the Blaauwbosch area. When the members arrived at said house, they conducted a search and retrieved the suspected stolen items.”

The following items were recovered:

– One HP Deskjet printer (white)
– Two Head Ultralink projectors (black)
– Four speakers (black)
– One Premium Sun PC case (black)
– One NOC computer keyboard (black)
– One Gigabyte keyboard (black)
– One remote control (white)
– One computer cable (grey)
– One Genius computer mouse (black)
– One USB input cable (black)
– One computer plug
– One earpiece (black)
– Ten school socks (green and yellow)

“The approximate value of all suspected stolen goods is R12 000,” added Arumugam.

Arumugam commented on the positive operation, which has resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old suspect, who is expected to appear in the Madadeni Magistrates Court soon.
