Ladysmith KZN: Dam levels already good as rainy season beckons

Spring is here and rain has already fallen over the past few weeks...

Plenty of rain fell last summer; winter has come and gone; and now it’s spring again… So what does that mean for the water levels in dams surrounding Ladysmith? Rain has already fallen over the past few weeks, adding to dam levels that have remained good throughout the dry, cold months.

Let’s take a look at the latest levels in nearby dams…

Spioenkop is on 95.31%, with Wagendrift Dam just below the 90-mark on 88.43%.

Driel Barrage is a fraction of a percentage below full on 99.7%, while Woodstock Dam stands at 76.4%.

The lowest dam in the KZN region is Hazelmere on 36.21%.

The rainy season is upon us, so this bodes well to push these dams back up to being full and overflowing!
