DUNDEE KZN: Celebrate your heritage by donating blood

With each blood donation, you can save up to three lives

While South African’s are gearing up to celebrate their cultural differences this Heritage Month, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is urging people to celebrate something which unites us all; blood.

“Even as we celebrate our cultural distinctiveness and all the things that make us unique, everyone is encouraged to join the family of donors who are dedicated to giving others the gift of life through the dedicated, ceremonial act of blood donation,” a press release from the SANBS read.

The SANBS will be hosting numerous clinics around the area this month, so you have plenty of chances to donate.

“Blood donation is a great way to give someone else more time to enjoy more celebratory days and moments with their friends and families. We urge you to spare 30 minutes of your time to make a life-saving difference this Heritage Day,” said Dr. Karin van den Berg, SANBS Medical Director.

With each blood donation saving up to three lives, the SANBS is hoping to create a living heritage by getting people to commit to donating blood regularly.

The SANBS is hosting a donor drive today at the Boulevard Centre until 4pm – Please do your bit to support them.
