A businessman in Murchison Street is up in arms with Alfred Duma Local Municipality, as he says the storm-water drains in the main street are blocked and in an absolutely disgusting state.
He commented that the spring rains have not started yet, so this would be the ideal time for the municipality to get their act together and clean the drains. However, this doesn’t seem to be happening.
”This is not why we pay our rates and taxes,” he fumed.
The irate businessman went on to say that people also need to stop throwing their rubbish into the drains, which in turn causes blockages.

He hopes the municipality will act soon before the rains come and make the situation worse.
