DUNDEE KZN: Should ministers and MEC’s be held accountable?

Have your say in our form and let us know what you think

In case you missed it, Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane, has been docked 50% of her salary and forced to issue a public apology after she and guests were found to have flouted Covid-19 regulations.

The MEC and her guests were seen dancing at her birthday party without wearing any face masks.

KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala ordered the MEC to issue an apology within seven days and give up half her salary after he found that she and her guests were not wearing masks and did not practice safe social distancing.

The money will be donated to paid to NGO’s involved in the fight against Covid-19.

Do you think that more MEC’s should be held accountable for their actions? Or do you think that MEC’s should be allowed to do as they please, considering that many people flout regulations on a daily basis.

Have your say in our form below and let us know what you think.
