Ladysmith KZN: Soul Sisters show love for the grannies

This was part of continuing celebrations for Women's Month

On Sunday (August 22), a team of women known as ‘The Soul Sisters’ from Limit Hill cooked and served a meal for the elderly women of the area. This was part of continuing celebrations for Women’s Month.

Renee Singh from Child Welfare was the guest speaker and touched on issues such as the abuse of women and children.

Speaking on behalf of ‘The Soul Sisters’, Ms Monica Mackenzie said they do this every year. “We are a group of nine women and we decided to do something for our senior ladies. That is how the idea of cooking came about.”

Ms Mackenzie also thanked the sponsors of the event: Tim Canham, Lillian Freeman and the local spaza shops.
