ESTCOURT KZN: Police request assistance to identify deceased man

The deceased was a male estimated to be 48 years old

While traversing through an area close to a residential area in Estcourt in October 2017, a herdsman stumbled across human remains.

Police arrived and the scene and evidence was gathered. However, no form of identification was present and police were unable to locate the family members of the deceased man.

Taking a different route, the human skull that was found on the scene was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for reconstruction.

“The reconstructed identikit depicts the deceased’s facial expression from the front and side. The deceased was a male estimated to be 48 years old,” explained police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.

If anyone is able to identify the deceased, please contact the investigating officer Sergeant Itesh Sankar from the Estcourt Detective Services on 078 377 5694.
