NEWCASTLE KZN: Teachers union unhappy with vacant posts (VIDEO)

The union is dissatisfied with the department allegedly deciding to halt the hiring of new teachers.

Members of the South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) picketed outside the School of Industries on Panorama Drive on August 17, over the Department of Education’s (DoE) seeming unwillingness to hire new staff.

According to Manny Govender, Principal of Newcastle High School, the union is dissatisfied with the DoE allegedly deciding to halt the hiring of new teachers and the replacing of teachers who left the system due to budget cuts.
