NEWCASTLE KZN: Meter installations will leave Signal Hill without electricity
Residents and businesses are urged to make necessary preparations before power is disrupted.
Parts of Signal Hill will experience disruptions to power supply, due to the planned installation of smart meters in the area.
Mlungisi Khumalo, the Newcastle Municipality’s Head of Communications, explained the meter installation would result in electricity being shut off on certain streets.
The following streets will be affected (between 9:00 and 15:00 on the specific day):
Wednesday, August 18:
Milky Way, Erica Drive, Pluto Avenue, Cerberus Place, Led Avenue, Drakensberg Drive
Thursday, August 19:
Rigel Place, Uranus Crescent, Pluto Avenue, Aquarius Avenue, Jupiter Road, Titan Drive, Erica Drive, Mecurius Avenue, Moon Avenue
Friday, August 20:
Libra Avenue, Sun Avenue, Sagittarius Avenue, Gemini Avenue, HJ Van Eck Drive, Pisces Crescent, Aquila Avenue, Meteor Avenue, Capricorn Drive
“Residents and businesses are urged to make necessary preparations before power is disrupted. The municipality regrets any inconvenience this may cause,” concluded Khumalo.
