DUNDEE KZN: Dancing queen Kate-Lynn is ready to shine for Team KZN

Kate-Lynn practices whenever she can, as well as when she goes to dance class

At only 15 years old, Kate-Lynn Labuschagne already has the honour of representing her province at national level.

Kate-Lynn was recently selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the South African Championship of Performing Arts.

Kate-Lynn fell in love with dance at an early age and could be found dancing along to the Barbie movies while growing up. In Grade 1, she started ballet, but stopped after a while and then in Grade 5 joined the Stepping Out Dance Academy.

Currently, Kate-Lynn does Jazz, Modern, Lyrical and Acro, but still wants to try her hand at Tap.
Despite being so young, her proudest achievement thus far is being able to dance for Team KZN.
“I was shocked when I found out that I had been selected for Team KZN, and I am very excited to go further,” she exclaims.

Kate-Lynn practices whenever she can, as well as when she goes to dance class. She also does stretches and aims to start going to gym too.

“Practice a lot, believe in yourself and always try your best. It will be hard at times and you won’t always get the results you are expecting, but use that as motivation to try harder,” Kate-Lynn says.

She thanks her dance coach, Marina de Beer; her mum and dad; as well as Hayley Wentzel for always being there for her and motivating her to do her best.
With many years ahead and bags of talent, there’s no doubt that Kate-Lynn Labuschagne will be dancing her way to the top.
