Vryheid KZN: Vryheid Landbou keeps on smiling

It was fascinating for them to watch and study the growth of the little lambs

Vryheid Landbou started the new term on a good note of ‘love’. The Grade 11s have been busy collecting food for needy households within the Vryheid community and were able to collect enough to feed four families. The learners were so excited when the campaign started that they have decided to continue and make this little food project a year-long initiative. The food project started with a simple question: What can we do to make our community smile? In other news, the practicals on the farm remain an all-time favourite among the learners.

Earlier this year, they had an opportunity to tail dock and castrate newborn lambs. Over the past two weeks, they were weighing those lambs to assist with the weaning programme. It was fascinating for them to watch and study the growth of the little lambs. Lastly, we are so proud to announce that the following learners made it through to the second round of the Business Studies Olympiad: Sandiswa Ziqubu, Lethokuhle Sindane, Ayanda Banda, Sinothile Mnisi and Nomonele Ngema.
