DUNDEE KZN: Here’s to many more years of friendship

Thank you to Shristi Dookhi and Charlene Hare-Bowers for sharing your stories with us

To mark Friendship Day on July 30, we asked you, our readers, to tell us all about your best friend and what makes them so special.

Thank you to Shristi Dookhi and Charlene Hare-Bowers for sharing your stories with us.

Shristi Dookhi:

She’s my literal ‘ride or die’. I appreciate her the most because of her massive heart and bravery. She’s faced the worst odds and came out fighting. There’s never a dull moment. Her laugh makes me laugh. Sometimes I think she can read minds, as she just knows what I’m thinking before I even mention it to her. She’s my best friend because, well, we just click. Her name is Verona Smith

Charlene Hare-Bowers

My best friend is Carla Glass. We have been friends eight years now. She has been there for me during the toughest times in my life and also the happiest. She has a heart of gold and will give her last to just make one person’s life better and she never asks for anything in return. Although we live far away from each other we were blessed to have her visit us in Dundee twice. A third visit is coming up soon. We are in daily contact. I couldn’t have asked for a better best friend. I’m so blessed. Love you my bestie with all my heart.
