Newcastle KZN: Police arrest 1 suspect for culpable homicide following collision
“One passenger died at the scene, and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Newcastle detectives are looking into a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, July 31, in Drakensberg Road (Barryhertzog Park), in which one life was lost.
According to Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications Officer Lizzy Arumugam, a vehicle overturned.
“One passenger died at the scene, and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol,” she explained.
One suspect, aged 24, was arrested for culpable homicide.
Police investigations are ongoing.
