Diskonto Books will have an exhibition of books on the following dates and times: August 16 (10am – 3:30pm), August 17 (7am – 3:30pm), August 18 (7am – 11pm).

Endumeni art exhibition planned

Local artists will have a chance to showcase their work at exhibition planned for the end of the August. Up to three items per artist can be exhibited – the only proviso being that these must have been made by themselves since March 2020 – after the start of the lockdown.

The different categories are items such as quilts or patchwork, yarn items such as knitting or crochet work, acrylic, oils or water colours.

Clay work includes unfired and fired pottery, beadwork, woodwork such as lathe or wood sculptures and items made from recycled materials. The items are to be delivered to The Lantern, Oxborrow Street, Dundee High on Friday, August 27, between 4pm and 6pm for display. There is no entry fee to exhibit items nor is there a fee for members of the public to view items on Saturday, August 28, between 9am and 3pm.No prizes will be awarded; the organisers recognise that each home-created, crafted item is of immense value to the person who created it. Judging is planned and each entrant will receive a certificate.

For entry forms or details contact Lis Durham at Chez Nous B&B or Bev Garner bevgarner@jenny.co.za DHS will provide refreshments for visitors as they view the exhibition; this is for school fundraising.
