Ladysmith KZN: Political party joins Mandela Day clean-up

The DA joined in, saying they were present to rebuild a nation and give hope to our country

Community members in Ladysmith, together with the Democratic Alliance (DA), celebrated Mandela Day on Sunday, July 18. by undertaking a 67-minute clean-up campaign.

Mandela Day is celebrated internationally every year in honour of late President Nelson Mandela.


In remembrance of an icon on his birthday, the community of Ladysmith cleaned the Kandahar and Delhi Road intersection. The DA joined in, saying they were present to rebuild a nation and give hope to our country after all the violence that has taken place.

DA representatives Mike Suddaby and Alf Lees said how beautiful it was to see the community get together and work hand-in-hand to rebuild our town. The party wishes to join hands with the community and perform more campaigns of this nature.
