Ladysmith KZN: Defy dispels false rumours

Defy is currently pursuing charges of 'breaking and entering' and theft against the perpetrators

Defy Appliances would like to speak out and reiterate certain things in the aftermath of the protests and violent looting in Ladysmith…

The majority of Defy’s warehouses and factories in the Ezakheni Industrial Estate were forcefully entered and in the process, severely looted and vandalised.

A story then started doing the rounds that Defy had allowed the perpetrators of the looting to take the appliances and operating equipment they had unlawfully taken possession of and removed from Defy’s warehouses and factories.

Defy management now wishes to dispel any such rumours and unequivocally states that they have neither permitted the perpetrators to take possession of appliances / operating equipment, nor have they given any of the items to any person as a gift.

Defy is currently pursuing charges of ‘breaking and entering’ and theft against the perpetrators.
