Ladysmith KZN: 67 minutes cleaning up for Mandela

This initiative came at the right time, when cleaning up has become a necessity after the protests

In celebration of Mandela Day, which is commemorated every year on July 18, the management and staff of Cheetah Ridge Lodge (based on Nambiti Private Game Reserve) spent 67 minutes cleaning the park in Limit Hill along the N11. This initiative came at the right time, when cleaning up has become a necessity in the wake of the violent protests and looting that gripped the province.

Mr Warwick Guy was also hands-on in the clean-up, along with his wife Kylan, who both had their rakes and refuse bags to fill up. Mr Warwick said there is no better way to celebrate Mandela Day than embarking on a cleaning campaign as a symbol of giving back to the community they operate within.

“I just took my staff to clean up some places around town. After we did our 67 minutes, we had lunch together. I wish more South Africans could do the same,” said Mr Guy.
