VRYHEID KZN: Local kwaito artist in need of sponsors to further his music career

"As a self-made hustler, one needs to look out for oneself. I currently record my music with different music producers in their studios, and my plan is to go to Durban and continue doing my music.

Local artist Lindani Nsele, who is better known by his fans as ‘Malanda’, lives in Martin Lucas near the Shoba area. Malanda is a kwaito musician who has already released two albums. His first album was released in 2015, entitled ‘Stairs On Top’’. The follow-up was an exclusive album with 15 tracks. Malanda says he is currently working on his third album, which is set to be released this year October. He says he has performed at many local events with different artists, in places like Durban, Newcastle and Johannesburg. “As a self-made hustler, one needs to look out for oneself. I currently record my music with different music producers in their studios, and my plan is to go to Durban and continue doing my music. However, since there is Covid-19 and we are still under lockdown, it is difficult to push my career forward,’’ he explains. Malanda says he looks up to well-known deejay, DJ Tira, who is in the same line of work as he is, adding that it would be a dream come true to meet and also work with him. “Once the lockdown restrictions have been eased, I am planning on meeting him in Durban. I have tried to market my music on his social media platforms and I believe there are lots of us who are trying to get hold of him, but he is a busy man”. Malanda is in need of sponsors to further his music career. He mentions that none of his songs have a music video and it is his wish to do music videos, as he believes they will strengthen his fan base. If you would like to know more about Malanda or would like to be a sponsor, contact him on 076 656 9935 or follow him on his social media platforms – he is ‘Malanda umgani katira’.
