Newcastle KZN: Afrika Msimanga feeds 250 families after the devastating blow suffered at the hands of violent looters

Mamma Africa donated 250 food parcels to assist families in need after violent protests caused devastating damages to Madadeni, Osizweni and Theku Plaza this past two week's.

Residents in need were greeted by a welcome sight yesterday afternoon (July 20), as a truckload of food arrived in town.

Afrika Msimanga, better known as Mamma Africa, flew into Newcastle to deliver 250 food parcels to families who have been severely affected by recent looting and violent unrest.

“We are here because we are aware communities are in need, and want to ensure the communities of Newcastle are also remembered and not only the larger cities,” said Msimanga.

She was met at the Newcastle Airport by local businessman, Johan Pieters and acting Municipal Manager Vish Govender, who thanked her for the generous donation.
