Ladysmith KZN: uThukela mayor gets his Covid-19 jab

Mayor Mazibuko was accompanied by municipal officials

uThukela District Municipality Mayor Siphiwe Mazibuko was vaccinated against the coronavirus (Covid-19) today (July 19) at Ladysmith Regional Hospital. This comes after vaccinations have been opened up to people ranging from 35 to 49 years of age.

The mayor was accompanied by municipal officials, who were also vaccinated.

Speaking after getting his jab, the mayor said they call upon all eligible citizens to heed the call and register so they too can get vaccinated. “As the district mayor, I saw the need to come and get vaccinated so people will see that the vaccine is meant for everyone. I would like to remind our people that Covid-19 is still with us and as uThukela District Municipality, we are counted as one of the districts having a high number of positive cases recently,” warned Mayor Mazibuko.
