DUNDEE KZN: Unrest intensifies in the Endumeni area

Numerous roads have since been blocked off by burning tyres, branches and rocks

The planned shutdown of KZN is picking up steam in Dundee where numerous roads are currently been blocked.

A large group of people could be seen gathering on Victoria Street and towards the entrance of Forestdale.

Numerous roads, including Victoria/Willson and Colley and Cornhill have been blocked. Victoria and Fouche Street has also been closed off. Another group has formed up at the Tandy and Victoria Street intersection.

Traffic and police officers have tried to clear areas of debris, only for protesters to block it off again soon after.

People are advised to stay at home where possible and to be extra vigilant if they are required to travel. It’s expected that more people will be making their way into town in a bid to shut it down.

In Glencoe, obstacles can be seen on the road near the abattoir turn off.
