VRYHEID KZN: Buried with dignity

his remains were kept in storage for three weeks while the family was trying to get things in order and arrange his funeral...

The Joint Operations Committee (JOC) would like to convey their gratitude to two funeral parlours, namely Icebolethu and Magudulela Funerals, for making it possible to bury a community member free of charge.

JOC secretary Phumalani Mchunu explained that Mr Hadebe was staying alone at his home in eNgilandi and when he died, his remains were kept in storage for three weeks while the family was trying to get things in order and arrange his funeral… That is until a neighbour reported the issue and the family’s plight to the JOC.

Magudulela Funerals took care of the removal, storage and coffin, while Icebolethu Funerals covered the delivery and cemetery set-up. This meant that, last week Wednesday, Mr Hadebe was laid to rest with dignity. “Thank you to Magudulela and Icebolethu Funerals for helping a destitute family,” Mchunu concluded.
