It is not clear if the protest is linked to the ongoing taxi fare dispute that has seen many route blocked in the Nquthu road since Monday, all the call to ‘shut down KZN’ by supporters of former President, Jacob Zuma, who yesterday started a 15 month prison sentence in the Estcourt Correctional Centre.

SAPS have arrested 13 people (10 by the Nquthu Police) and three by the Mondlo Police following the week of protests that saw rocks and other obstacles blocking various in and around Nquthu.

Commuters are upset over what they saw are unfair taxi fare increases.
