The Grindrod Bank Berg & Bush mountain biking event was designed by mountain bikers for mountain bikers. There are three events to choose from, namely the Descent, Tour and Original Two-Day. The Two-Day Original is a great family event with lots of fun categories and prizes, with distances of 50km and 60km that need to be completed. During this event, the riders have the opportunity to camp along the banks of the Tugela River at a campsite near Winterton. Two weeks ago, Patrick Friend and his son, Richard, embarked on this challenging adventure. Over a period of two days, they had cycled 50km and 60km on a hand-built single track following the Tugela River and up over the infamous Spioenkop Mountain. Patrick and Richard had the experience of a lifetime when they cycled among the most breathtaking aloe plantations, which created a few perfect memories between father and son. Congratulations, Patrick and Richie, on completing the 50km and 60km distances over the two-day weekend.
