Ladysmith KZN: MEC officially launches Mkhamba Primary School

He stressed that this is the kind of school that the government will be building going forward

This morning (June 29), the MEC for Education in the province, Kwazi Mshengu, visited Mkhamba Primary School and officially launched this state-of-the-art school which is situated in the Mkhamba Gardens area. The MEC, together with officials from the Department of Education, had a walk around the school as part of Operation Siyahlola, which seeks to monitor teaching and learning within schools.

The MEC complimented the work done at this school, stressing that this is the kind of school that government will be building going forward. He continued to say that this school is equipped with modern technology so that it keeps up with the demands of the fourth industrial revolution. “We are in the process of building schools of this standard in all places, including rural areas, and we wish to close the gap between schools in the urban areas and those in the rural areas. We are planning to build 54 schools within this financial year. Some of them will be renovated, as modernised teaching accessories will be introduced,” said the MEC.
