WINTERTON KZN: Daring Drakies take an icy dive for charity

11 brave boys swam 100 meters in an icy 14 Degrees Celsius

The Drakensberg Choir School took an icy swim in aid of the Polar Bear Swim last Sunday (June 13) by completing a Pre-Polar Bear Swim at Dragon Peaks Mountain Resort.

The school decided to support the Polar Bear Swim as they will be going on leave and therefore would miss the annual charity swim.

11 brave boys swam 100 meters in an icy 14 Degrees Celsius.

The daring Drakies were rewarded with hot chocolate donated by Dragon Peaks Mountain Resort and a delicious cupcake from Aweh Ma Ady’s Coffee Shop.

Four of the boys also won a voucher from Dragon Peaks Mountain Resort to enjoy a day at the adventure centre. Drakensberg Canopy Tours donated a further four prizes to very excited boys.

If you would like to participate in the Polar Bear Swim, which takes place on Saturday, June 26 at Dragon Peaks Mountain Resort, please sent an email to berginfomedia@gmail.com

This event supports the local animal shelters, including Estcourt, Khetani and Animal Angels.
