Ladysmith KZN: Cilliers Street flooded after pipe bursts

"Water is being wasted and uThukela is not doing anything about it"

A pipe burst in Cilliers Street early this morning (June 16), allowing litre upon litre of water to pour out.

The road is now flooded and the leak has not yet been attended to.

A local resident says she has been calling uThukela since this morning, but they haven’t responded.

She added angrily that, “uThukela promised to have the pipe fixed, but until now, it has not been repaired and water is being wasted as it floods the road. Why is the district municipality not doing something about this situation, pronto? I’m fed up with the lack of service delivery in this town.”

uThukela has been approached for comment, but none had been received at the time of publishing.
