Ladysmith KZN: Paramedics teach learners about their exciting job

Young faces lit up with excitement when they got to see how the ambulance lights and sirens work

For many primary school learners thinking about the great big world out there, choosing a career might seem like a daunting task. Schools, however, help their pupils in many ways to get on the right path, including choosing a suitable career. This is done by hosting talks and activities at schools.

ML Sultan Primary held a fun-filled learning activity for the children on Friday, June 4, when they invited ER24 Ladysmith to teach the knowledge-hungry youngsters about being a paramedic and what it’s all about.

ER24 paramedic Raksha Behari made sure the learners had a hands-on experience.

The young faces lit up with excitement as they got to see how the ambulance lights and sirens work. They also got to see the inside of an ambulance, and how a paramedic treats an injured person.

Then there was a question and answer session where the inquisitive children got to learn what a paramedic’s job entails.

The day was enjoyed by the children and educators alike, and you are sure to see some new paramedics coming from ML Sultan Primary in the years to come.
