Ladysmith KZN: Grave concern over rumoured Covid-19 cases at schools

People still need to follow all the safety measures to curb the virus

Social media has been a hive of activity in Ladysmith today (June 8), with numerous messages circulating about Covid-19 cases being reported at schools around town.

It is believed that a number of children at Môrester Children’s Home have tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19), but the exact number of cases is not known at this stage. Children from the home attend different schools in town. There are also a few workers at the children’s home who have tested positive.

Ladysmith Secondary School (Lasec) sent out a message earlier today stating that 20 educators will be undergoing Covid-19 testing on Wednesday (June 9). The message also states that parents must use their discretion to keep their children safe, and that the school will inform parents of further developments.

People need to follow all Covid-19 safety measures such as wearing a mask in public places, washing and sanitizing your hands regularly, and adhering to safe social distancing.
