Ladysmith KZN: Sinkhole impedes traffic and damages vehicles

Motorists in the area have complained of damage to their vehicles’ suspension and tyres

Many people in the Hospital Park area are concerned about the sinkhole in Jansen Road. (A sinkhole is a cavity in the ground, caused by water erosion)

Motorists in the area have complained of damage to their vehicles’ suspension and tyres, with no idea how they are going to claim for the repairs needed.

“This sinkhole impedes traffic and leads to unnecessary wear and tear on our vehicles,” fumed one motorist.

Resident Michelle Petersen said her brother circled the sinkhole (in black) so that motorists would be aware of it.

She added that it has been a few weeks and nothing has been done, after contacting the municipality numerous times.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality was approached by the Ladysmith Gazette for comment, but none had been received at the time of publishing this article.
