VRYHEID KZN: 4 ATMs bombed in Paulpietersburg

The ATM bombers fled in a black vehicle in the direction of Piet Retief

Last night (June 3), four ATMs were bombed in Paulpietersburg. The door of the building leading to the ATMs was forced open using an unknown instrument. Security guards responded to the bombing and the five suspects opened fire on them. The ATM bombers fled in a black vehicle in the direction of Piet Retief. Police found about six spent R5 cartridges at the scene. It was determined that about eight canisters were taken from the ATMs, containing an estimated R2 million in cash. The case is currently under investigation.
