Ladysmith KZN: 2 men appear in court for murder of wheelchair-bound farmer

The case will resume on June 3 for a bail application

Two men were arrested this week and appeared in the Colenso Magistrate’s Court on Thursday morning (May 27) for the murder of wheelchair-bound farmer Neil Mckay. 

The case was set to start at 9am, but only got going at 11am due to a delay in the docket. The magistrate explained the suspects’ rights to them and they in turn requested legal aid.

The next court appearance will be June 3 for a bail application.

Mckay was found dead in his wheelchair on a farm in Winterton on April 10 this year. It is believed that his mother found him with his hands tied behind his back and bruises on his neck. Mckay had been brutally murdered at the age of 46.
