NEWCASTLE KZN: Recipients share their Covid-19 vaccine experience [VIDEO]

Residents 60 years and older are urged to register for their vaccination as soon as possible.

The Department of Health began its rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine today (May 26) at the Newcastle Town Hall.

Residents arrived in numbers to receive their first dose of the vaccine.

Nonhlanhla Khuzwayo, Assistant Director of the Communications Department, clarified that for the time being, the rollout was limited to people aged 60 and up.

The following places around the Amajuba District will host vaccine spots from tomorrow:

Team A – Five vaccinators

Thursday, May 27 – Utrecht Town Hall from 7.30am
Friday, May 28 – Madadeni Hall from 7.30am
Saturday, May 29 – Newcastle Town Hall from 7.30am
Sunday, May 30 – Madadeni Hall from 7.30am.

Team B- Five vaccinators:

Thursday, May 27 – Dannhauser Dorothy Nyembe Hall from 7.30am
Friday, May 28 – Osizweni Community Hall from 7.30am
Saturday, May 29 – Newcastle Town Hall from 7.30am
Sunday, May 30 – Osizweni Community Hall from 7.30am.

There will also be seven vaccination spots from Monday, May 31 at the following locations:

Madadeni Hospital – Five days a week
Newcastle Hospital – Five days a week
Dannhauser CHC – Five days a week
Newcastle Town Hall – Two day a week
Osizweni Community Hall – Three days a week
Utrecht Town Hall – Five days a week if network is available
Dannhauser Dorothy Nyembe Hall – Once this week.
