ESTCOURT KZN: Hlathikhulu school welcomes educational boost

The expressions on the learners’ faces showed that they appreciated the donations

An armful of stationery and school essentials.

Since the beginning of the academic year, the Gift of the Givers Foundation has been providing educational support to thousands of learners across South Africa.

Areas in and around Estcourt are not forgotten, and community liaison Jaaved Khan has frequent negotiations with officials from the Education Department to identify disadvantaged schools, often in far-flung areas, that would benefit from a boost in educational supplies.

Last Wednesday, the team from the Gift of the Givers Estcourt branch visited Mankonjane Primary School in Hlathikhulu.

The learners were called out of their classrooms to receive an armful of gifts. 330 stationery packs and lunch tins were distributed to all learners, and a total of 1200 packs of noodles were also given to the children.

School principal Mrs Dlamini expressed her sincere gratitude to the Gift of the Givers; the expressions on the learners’ faces showed that they too appreciated the donations.
