DUNDEE KZN: Voting well underway in Ward 2

The voting stations close at 7pm and results are expected to be released later tonight. 

IFP, ANC and EFF supporters are out in numbers today, as by-election fever grips the town.

Nisha Arends of the EFF, Ukhona Robin Kubheka of the IFP and Amina Sadeck, the ANC’s candidate are contesting Ward 2. The seat became vacant following the sudden death earlier this year of former Mayor, Thulani Mahaye.

Menzi Mbatha drums up support for the IFP.

Voting stations are at Dundee Junior and the Horse Racing Club House at the Rural Horse Riding Track. The voting stations close at 7pm and results are expected to be released later tonight. 

The ANC are out in full force to reclaim the ward. 

There have been no incidents or issues reported at either station and party officials gathered outside the Dundee Junior voting station could even be seen sharing a few jokes. 

The IFP’s Cllr Carelse and EFF’s Cllr Khanyile shared a jovial chat outside Dundee Junior.
