DUNDEE KZN: Recite a poem and reap the rewards

To enter, simply send through a video (no longer than a minute) reciting Nkosingiphile’s poem, IBhangela Lothando’

Local author, Nkosingiphile Khulu may have found success with the launch of his debut book, but the talented poet remains grounded and wants to use his platform to inspire other local artists.

Nkosingiphile and the Northern Natal Courier are giving you a chance to win one of three copies of his book, just for reading a poem. To enter, simply send through a video (no longer than a minute) reciting Nkosingiphile’s poem, IBhangela Lothando’.

Videos can be sent over whatsapp to 071 277 1394. Please state your name and surname and which category you fall under and that you are entering the competition when sending the message. A winner will be chosen in each of the three categories, primary school learner, secondary school learner and adult. The deadline for entries is May 27 at 5pm.

Nkosingiphile will then judge the entries based on how well the entrant read the poem as well as they emotion put into it.

Winners will be announced in the June 3 edition of the paper.

Isethembiso  sisesihlakaleni,
Ibhangela  lothand’  engalweni  yakho,
Livuselel’  imizwa  nothando  lwakho,
Ngitshakadulis’  okwenkonyane,
Inhliziy’ iyagubhazela,
Kuhle  kwamanz’ abilayo,
Ungathi ngizalwe  kabusha,
Injabulo  yangunaphakade.

Sengaphenduk’ inhlanz’ imbala,
Ngigxuma  gxum’ othandweni,
Isethembis’ angisoze  ngasilibala,
Ibhengela  likuholel’  emendweni,
Inhloniph’  izokwakhel’  umuzi,
Sithakas’  okwamachwan’  ebon’  umhlaba.
