NEWCASTLE KZN: Mediclinic recognises nurses on International Nurses Day

Professional Nurse, Bandile Ngubeni was recognised as the 2021 Nursing Excellence Award recipient.

Each year, Mediclinic takes a special day out to recognise its nurses and their amazing contribution within the community.

“While we acknowledge that 2021 has been a challenging year for all healthcare workers around the world, we are excited to take this opportunity to shine the light on the nursing teams within our hospitals,” explained Patient Experience Manager of Mediclinic Newcastle, Nondumiso Mbhele.

This year, as Mediclinic celebrated International Nurses’ Day on May 12, it has recognised each each nurse who has chosen a career of caring for others.

“Each year, staff within each Mediclinic locality selects a Nursing Excellence Award winner, nominated by their peers in recognition for the hard work they invest in caring for patients. At Mediclinic Newcastle, we acknowledge Professional Nurse Bandile Ngubeni as the annual Nursing Excellence Award recipient, as he receives this symbol of appreciation and recognition for the care he delivers to his patients and supporting his colleagues,” said Mbhele.

She added that Mediclinic recognises that behind each excellent nurse is a team of great nurses, making the nomination by those around Nurse Ngubeni even more significant.

“The 2021 recipient, Bandile, has been with Mediclinic for one and a half years and works in the Emergency Centre unit. Nurse Ngubeni is a well-deserved winner of this special award!”
