NEWCASTLE KZN: Newcastle FCS Unit commits to community awareness

Approximately 500 pamphlets were distributed during the awareness campaigns.

On May 5 and 7, Newcastle Corporate Communications and the Newcastle Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit held an awareness campaign in Newcastle, Madadeni and surrounding areas.

“The unit addressed gender-based violence, fraud, missing persons, and other crime prevention issues through an array of activities hosted in the community,” confirmed Lizzy Arumugam of the Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications office.

She said that Captain Chapie also gave a speech to the community.

According to Arumugam, approximately 500 pamphlets were distributed during these awareness campaigns, and the children were overjoyed to receive new lunch boxes and bags.

“The campaign went off without a hitch,” concluded Arumugam.
