There has only been a moderate increase in water storage capacity in KwaZulu-Natal, according to the Department of Water and Sanitation’s (DWS) weekly status of reservoirs.
Department spokesperson, Sputnik Ratau said this week’s stats of 73.9% shows a slim increase from last week’s 73.8%.
“However, this is a huge improvement from the same time last year, which was 63.6%,” confirmed Ratau.
He added that all five dams that form part of the Umgeni Water Supply System have recorded upward movements.
Here are the dam levels for this week:
- Midmar Dam – 100.5%
- Nagle Dam – 89%
- Inanda Dam – 99.9%
- Albert Falls – 55.3%
- Spring Grove – 99.1%
