Newcastle SAPS provides helpful tips for motorcycle owners.
Lizzy Arumugam of the Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications office has provided the following tips to help you safeguard your motorbike from theft:
- Lock your steering lock
- Keep your lock off the ground
- Lock your motorbike to something heavy
- Use multiple locks on your motorbike
- Buy quality locks and chains
- Install a hidden kill switch
- Park your motorbike in a well-lit area
- If you do not have a garage, hide your motorbike under a cover and place something else on top to change the shape of the bike.
- Take out the keys.
This information follows after the motorbike of a local resident was stolen from their home last week.
